• Your curtain track properly installed and compatible with the motor

Step 1: Install the SmartNode App 

Download the SmartNode Automation app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Create an account using your phone number or email, then log in. 

The app is free to download. You don't need any separate hub or additional hardware to get started the Curtain Flow motor communicates directly with the app over your home Wi-Fi. 

Step 2: Add Your Curtain Motor to the App 

Once you're logged in: 

1. Tap the "+" button to add a new device 

2. Select "Curtain" from the device category list 

3. Put your Curtain Flow motor in pairing mode (usually done by pressing the reset button on the motor check the manual for your specific model) 

4. Enter your Wi-Fi credentials and wait for the app to detect the motor 

5. Give your device a name something like "Living Room Curtain" works well for easy identification 

That's it. Once paired, the motor shows up on your home dashboard. 

Step 3: Set Your Curtain Limits 

This step is important and often skipped. Auto calibrating electronic limits tell the motor exactly how far to open and close. Without setting this up, the curtain might over travel or stop short. 

In the SmartNode app, go to your curtain device settings and run the limit calibration. The motor will travel to its full open and closed positions, then save those endpoints. Once done, every open/close command works within those limits automatically.

Step 4: Control Your Remote Control Curtains from the App

• Touch Panel: If you have SmartNode's touch panels installed at home, curtain control is available directly on the panel no phone needed. 

Step 5: Create Schedules and Scenes

In the app, go to the Automation or Schedule section for your curtain device. You can set: 

• Time-based schedules — open curtains at 7 AM, close them at 10 PM 

• Auto open/close — curtains close automatically after a set duration 

• Scenes — combine curtain actions with other SmartNode devices. For example, a "Good Morning" scene can open your curtains and turn on the lights at the same time. A "Movie Time" scene can close the curtains and dim the lights with a single tap.
